Google announces Google Buzz

Google introduces Google Buzz that works with your Gmail. So now you “auto-follow” the people you normally communicate with in Gmail. It supports both public and private sharing, integrates with your inbox, and only shows you “just the good stuff.” So instead of having 5,000 updates show up, it only shows you the items you care to see. It seems to be a handy tool that, if you are a Gmail user and a social networker, will make life a lot more interesting. They have also created a mobile version as well. Check your Gmail 2pm EST 11am PST.

Google stated they aren’t trying to pull people away from their current social sites, but to enable access to them from Gmail. They are also planning on uniting a majority of their products using Buzz. Of course, with all of this being web based, it will work out of the box with Chrome OS on a future Tablet PC. (gPad anyone?)
